Dusted The Air Rifle Off...

Recommended Posts

Need a bit of grub for the ferrets so dusted my daystste off this morning and nipped to a permission down the road.

First gate I looked over there was a rabbit sat about 20 yards out. First shot, head shot. Happy days.

Walked a couple more fields and saw nothing so jumped back in the motor and just as I was leaving a wood pigeon landed on some hay bales so I jumped out of the car and took my shot. About 20 yards again and dropped with a head shot.

Ferrets must have been getting fed up of left over dog meat. Lol...

I always take the breasts off pigeons before the ferrets get them mate.

Got about 12 breasts in the freezer now ready for a decent meal.

Good man. Love a bit of pigeon breast. Still trying to talk the Mrs in to trying it but she's having none of it

My missus is the same. Me and the dogs like pigeon.

I think she just sees flying rats. Ah well, more for me

My missus had never even heard of eating rabbit, venison, pigeon, pheasant or hare before she got with me.

She thought chicken came in packs from tesco. Lol.

She eats the lot now as long as I cook it. She loves rabbit and pheasant roasted whole in red wine and I think her favourite is my rabbit and Stilton pie.

Out of interest what pellets do you lads reccomend for rabbit and pigeon?

These have been spot on what I'm using but not a clue what they are. Just in a plain tin. I've had them for years.

Air rifle is Daystate X2 Sports in .22.

Well worth popping out for that is,i take the breast off before the ferrets get a look as well, too good to give away and there's plenty left on one anyway, for the pellet question id say light dome head as they seem to be good whatever you put them through,h& n ftt, accupell Superdome sort of thing, jsb and air arms are apparently good as well, some will be better than others depending on your barrel...
